Me & My Mom - 1990

Proverbs 31:28 (King James Version)  "Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her."

If the writer had included the lady's name in Proverb 31.... it would have been Linda June Renison!  I do rise and call her blessed..... but I am also blessed to have her as my Mother!  She has worked untiringly over the years for my Dad, me and my brothers .... and she continues the labor of love with her grandchildren.  She is a expert seamstress, uncomparable cook, dynamo housekeeper and has always worked with honor and integrity.  Late night talks and warm treats are her specialty!  She is at every major event in our lives as possible.... including the "weekly stay" at each birth of a grandchild (she is at this moment attending her new grandson - her 10th grandchild!)  She is a non-partisan mother and grandmother.... always fair!  But is able to make each child feel that they are the favorite and at the same time make sure that everyone knows she doesn't play favorites!  I love you MOM!!!!!  From your FAVORITE ONLY Daughter!!!!!!

Happy 16th Birthday Logan!

Happy 16th Birthday Logan!!!

I can't believe that Logan is 16 already.... I don't know if your aware that HE IS my favorite son!!!! He's smart, good-looking, talented...... Did I mention smart, handsome, smart, cute.... intelligent....? :) He really is a great "kid"!!! It is so hard to believe that we are in this stage already... going into the "late-teens" and young adulthood!

He had a really nice Birthday "weekend". Several of his friends were able to come and have dinner with us on Friday, May 2 - which is Logan's actual Birthday. We had an "okie" dinner - Chicken Fried Deer Steak (from Logan's hunting supply), Chicken Fried Chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy, black-eyed peas and fried okra.... and, of course, the ever-present sweet tea! Later that evening, the Life Tabernacle Youth & Young Adults piled in for Chocolate Torte, Ice Cream, fun & games.... (and some of them worked on dinner left-overs!) I didn't count how many were here, but I would say there was around 30-40 people scattered around our house. We have great young people and they made Logan's day special. My parents were also here from Tennessee and helped with everything - we were sooooo glad they could help celebrate Logan's 16th! About 4 of Logan's friends were able to stay over and spent Saturday with us also. Sunday, Life Tabernacle honored Logan .... recognizing his birthday with a wonderful offering. Thank you to everyone who made Logan's 16th Birthday a momentous event!

I love you Logan.... Happy Birthday from your One and Only...Favorite...Number One MOM!
