Giving Thanks!

How to observe Thanksgiving

Count your blessings instead of your crosses;
Count your gains instead of your losses.
Count your joys instead of your woes;
Count your friends
 instead of your foes.
Count your smiles instead of your tears;
Count your courage instead of your fears.
Count your full years instead of your lean;
Count your kind deeds instead of your mean.
Count you health
instead of your wealth;
Count on God instead of yourself.

17 Year Pastoral Anniversary

This last weekend we celebrated our 17th Year at Life Tabernacle!  What a GREAT Church family we have.  They surprised us with a very nice afternoon lunch at a local steak house --- almost everyone from the morning service was there (200+)!  In the evening service, they blessed us with a wonderful program of memories, pictures & gift.  We were privileged to have our friend, Bro. Keith Clark as our guest speaker.  To top off the day, we baptized one and one got the Holy Ghost!  It's been a wonderful 17 years and we love Life Tabernacle!!!!!

Home from Tennessee

Well, it's been a couple weeks since I posted... obviously!!  We arrived back home today and are trying to get unpacked and caught up.  Tennessee was beautiful and we had a great time visiting with our family.  We didn't really do the "tourist" thing this time, although Olivia did get to go to Dollywood with Grammy and Amanda.  We just spent a lot of time relaxing, visiting and eating.  As my brother, Anthony, would say, "We don't eat because we're hungry, we eat to keep from gettin' hungry!"  Those of you that know my Mom, know that she is a fabulous cook and she didn't disappoint us...  lol!

 As you can see by the pics below,  Anthony took Dean & Logan skeet shooting - which, I'm sure is going to having lasting effects...  they were both hooked with the first shot.   The love of gun-smoke runs deep in this family.

It was nice getting to be there for my Dad's 64th Birthday - We don't get to do that very often! We combined his birthday dinner with "Thanksgiving Dinner" since we won't be there for Thanksgiving.  Check out that beautiful cake...  another of my Mom's specialties!  Good food and good memories!

So glad that I got to visit with Papaw and Mamaw.  They are incomparable grandparents and I'm truly blessed to be their favorite............................oldest granddaughter!  (lol - had those other grandkids going for a minute!)

All in all, we had a great time and I miss everyone already!

There is something wrong with my new camera - I'm going to have to return it, I think...  But here are a few pictures I was able to get...

Off to Tennessee....

It's been awhile since I've posted - as you can tell.... Soooo much to do and sooooo little time! Right now I'm sitting in Sacramento Airport (surfing the web on Olivia's laptop while she is getting another Starbucks!) ...waiting for my 6:30am flight to Kodak, Tennessee via Atlanta and Nashville. It's going to be a looooooong day! I'm looking forward to spending some time with my family and enjoying a few weeks of fall colors in the beautiful Smokey Mountains.

And to those who think I'm going to miss Election Tuesday ---- I've already voted - California has "early voting" this year --- which was great because we'll be in Tennessee on the 4th. Olivia can't vote this year, but is excited that she and Logan will be voting in the next Presidential Election in 2012! I think she already has a candidate picked out!
